A series of bad decisions has led to some flexing in my current frame

So i have been having fun this week. Brought the robot into highschool physics classrooms. The classrooms had a polished concrete floor. I thought making anchors out of shower safety bars would work . I can carry the whole kit in two bags, I am using a pen holder not a router. Sigh. I am somewhat shocked that these things are sold to save our dear grandmamas. They keep coming loose. I think the idea might work on a polished linoleum floor with a damp cleaning rag or on a glazed tile floor but so far not so good. Thought I would try at home with a piece of whiteboard from the trash. This led to some flexing in the frame and inaccuracy in the calculations. LOL

Anyway. Might work, but try it out first on the floor that you want to attach it to. I still am ingriuged by the idea of a setup that I could carry with me but I think that this is not it. My lawn anchors are pretty good if I have access to outside space and don’t puncture sprinkler systems so I will plan on using those until I get a better idea. Velcro straps on an industrial carpet floor might work…

Still had some good conversations with the kids. They were studying decomposing vectors into x and y components so it was a really good example but I couldn’t get it actually running in the classroom.

Woah I love the idea of using those suction cups. I also think the idea of a machine that is more portable is super interesting, I’m working on a smaller more portable version that I think would be great for that use of bringing it into the classroom

I think you would really want to test before using them. Even on a smooth table they kept pulling loose. I think glass or polished linoleum or shiny tile might work but otherwise not a good idea. There are powered suction devices by ryobi and others that might work but much more expensive.
