Ive made about a dozen cuts so far. On my most recent one however the bottom right belt/motor gave out and it wont move the belt at all. I can see the internals of the motor spin for a second when I press the retract button. No movement from the belt though. During some cuts i was getting a message warning saying how the motor current was exceeding the 4000 threshold. I looked up why I was getting those warnings and one of the possibilities was from sawdust buildup. Since I have no vacuum, there is a lot of sawdust. Could all these things be connected?

If you can see the motor moving one of the common causes of it getting stuck is the spool of the belt getting too much friction against the arm housing. If you gently take the router out and loosen the screws that hold the top clamp in place you can take the arms out (take photos to make sure you stack them back up sticking out the right order in the stack in relation to the power cord)
If you then unscrew the arm casing you could check how tight the spool is and if needed, clean sand and lubricate with silicone grease the spool in the arm. It’s a bit of a pain in the butt but could be the reason. If you find out it helps with that arm, eventually should probably do it to the rest too.

Also when you have it apart you can check and make sure the drive gears are all seated correctly and that there are no chunks of wood and stuff stopping them from moving.

wouldchuck has identified the likely cause. You could also try extending the belt, if it extends vacuum or blow air to remove dust etc, out that arm, you may be able to dislodge any dust or chips. Another possibility is damaged teeth on the spool, you need to pull the arm apart to determine that. What retract force is set?

I pulled it apart and cleaned everything. Put it back together and i was able to retract the belt that wasnt moving before. However when I was taking the maslow apart, i found a lot of the plastic pieces had broken. Obviously thats not ideal, but is that a common issue. Did I tighten the bolts too much? With some of the plastic pieces being broken I could work with, but one of the z-axis vertical support pieces snapped into multiple pieces

I also had parts break when needing to dis-assemble. The posts are very fragile. My lower base cracked at the hole for the right side of the wedge. The part which holds the control board on top of the router also broke at one of the screw holes.

I 3D printed parts which seem to be a stronger design. These were designed by other forum members.

Need to print 4 posts and two spacers for the two posts with the bearings.

Turtle clamp, no split. This needs longer screws for the posts, 20mm. It also needs some metal discs for the clamp inserts which the screws push against. I have a metal lathe

[Turtle clamp no split design thread](https://forums.maslowcnc.com/t/turtle-clamp-non-split-clamp-design/25420)

These are my metal discs. The thread calls for 2 @ 1mm discs. Likely due to the 1mm thick discs being commonly available. I made my discs 0.1in thick. This means I can use the normal 13mm long screws. The thread states 16mm screws for the 2 @ 1mm discs.

My parting tool left little pips on the parts. Rather than file these off, I just drilled small holes in the plastic then used this to position the discs with a drop of CA glue to hold things together.

For the turtle clamp I could not get the discs so I put a locking nut on the bolt wich presses against the plastc shim. Works fine.
