# Compiling error

System Windows 10 pro Arduino 1.8.5 (reloaded 3 times) Maslow firmware Version 1.17 Board selected as Arduino genuino mega or mega 2560 on com 3 (confirmed in device manager) USB connect light on 12 V power light on communication (orange led) flashing. Upload gives " Error compiling for board"

Need to ask, sorry, did you extract/unzip the FW before the upload attempt?  
A screenshot of the arduino IDE and error could help narrow this down.  
Are there more clues on the screen?

checked that files had unzipped and found 2 that had not unzipped was able to get board to compile thanks for your help
