So I finally was able to complete calibration. Set the Z’s and got the bit in. But now when I try to either run code or just jog the machine around, it’s acting strange, bottom belts get very tight and sled tilts down. I tried extending and retracting belts multiple times, same behavior. No error messages. Any thoughts?

</div>

Clarification, it’s happening in the corners, specifically when I jog to bottom left. That bottom left (and right) belt gets super tight and pulls the sled out of wack.

The calibration process will improve on its previous values if you run it again. To me it seems like maybe the anchor point locations still aren’t 100% dialed in.

I’m trying to run a 9x9 2000x1000 calibration and it’s doing this exact thing while calibrating. Sled lifts up closer to the corners with bottom belts being very tight. Left side is worse than right. It succeeds after a long time, but the lift still persist. Should I just keep running that calibration?

Ahhh, I think I see! Your arms are in a different order than they should be! The one closest to the top of the router should be leading to the top left point on the frame

you can also try changing the z offset values (make sure they are correct even
if you reorder the arms)

if the sled still tips, tilt the frame back some more.

Well thats a rookie mistake, lol! Great catch man! I reassembled it in correct order. Running calibration, we shall see.

While I have you guys here, could you please advice on these settings, coming out from Fusion’s cam?

Specifically I want to understand the relationship between Feed/Retract/Clearance to what we set in the Fluid for Z.

Cheers!

feed should be how fast it drills down (will vary based on the bit)

retract should be how fast it moves up (can be faster than feed)

clearance should be how far above the surface it moves the bit before doing any
horizontal movements (should be able to be small, just a couple of mm)

UPD: calibration is stuck again in the bottom right corner with the low fitness loop. Ugh.

Another UPD: Was able to complete 2 calibrations. One for 3x3 grid @ 500x500, another 9x9 @ 2000x1000. (I guess you cant run calibration after one was just completed? I had to retract and extend belts to do so, otherwise machine just goes off to the side…).

My issue still there, now sled now tilts up though. Specifically when I jog to the left edge. Bottom belts are quite tight and pull the sled to much. I triple checked the arms, all are in right places.

Is that normal?

Is the top belt hitting the support, if so it will be shortening the belt effectively, putting more pressure on the top side of the sled.
Can you post a copy of your maslow.yaml file

It’s worse when I try to jog up from left corner, it’s basically riding on the front edge of the sled…
