Silly question but did you take it off the frame before retract/extend?

That error means that the user interface is sending a request for information that the machine doesn’t have. Probably the issue is that your maslow.yaml file needs to be updated, we added some new settings in there

I just updated the yaml this morning.
“-Updated: Frimware, yaml and index, plus I was not at the recommended 15degree so I tilted my frame to the 15 degrees.”
Is there something else I need to do?

In the “Config items” are there maslow settings? If not, then I’d click the red power button, restart it, then reload the ui and check again. If that does not work, power cycle and check. once it is there then retract/extend (off the frame) then back on again and you should be able to apply tension and jog around.

If you update your Maslow.yaml file (which you should every time you update your firmware) you will lose the calibration values and other values you entered. Don’t forget to hit save after making manual changes. Otherwise, I’m not sure what’s happening. Which details are changing?

Ok, good to know, that the data is lost after updating the yaml.

</div>

Ah, so if you had a successful calibration then updated maslow.yaml, that would have wiped out the values the calibration set (tl, tr, bl, br). When you do it again, just save off your yaml so you can reference the x and y for those and re-enter them. There is an open issue to split out the frame/calibration data from the config so we won’t have this problem in the future, but it has not reached high enough priority to get worked on.

OMG! I’m calibrated!!! and I can jog with no errors!

Suggestions:

- Better error reporting, error codes with what is going wrong and how to fix the error.
- Checks make sure yaml and firmware match before calibration.
- Saving of calibration settings so they do not revert to defaults.
- Figure out why disconnects happen so frequently. When this happens during calibration it basically means you need to restart the process from square one.

Cant wait to start cutting!
Thanks again for all the support!
I felt like I wen thru the calibration process around 30 times before having it complete successfully, but i couldn’t let it beat me! 🙂

I 100% agree, I am working on this.

Good call, it would be great to make these check automatically and print a warning if they don’t match

Last weeks update partly addressed this…or maybe those changes will be in todays update. You are 100% right that it needs to work better.

That is what I am working on today!

All of your suggestions are excellent and hopefully you will see some progress on fixing/improving all of those things ASAP

Aloha,

I got mine set up in the theater where I’m working this summer. Horizontal orientation, 8’ x 12’ frame.

Calibration has been a struggle for me…I get high fitness in the first set of points, but it declines and after either the second or third set of points, it is too low to save. I have tried the various suggestions above and so far had little change. If I increase the threshold above 1800, the sled tends to pull off the spoil board. I see no evidence that the belts are not retracting fully.

Could use a lifeline.

Mahalo,

How low does it end up being?

I’m not sure how large a calibration you are trying, but you might try a 3x3 calibration over a smaller area. If you can get that to work, then you will have better values to start with. I’m not sure what would cause your later points to go south; the first thing I think of though is that as you get farther from the center, perhaps your frame is flexing.

It seems to stop the calibration when it gets low. Am I not waiting long enough for it to go on? I’ve been into the .3s most recently (just now).

That sounds like it could be the frame flexing to me, but I 100% second @jwolter’s suggestion. I would try running on a smaller area and maybe do just a 3x3 or 5x5 first.
