Just try not to be political about mistakes. As in, never admit any mistakes.

Embrace all mistakes, especially your own mistakes, that will get you a long way.

Everyone has shit his/her own pants to gradually discover that there is a better way to make shit.

EDIT:
Only politicians keep making shit in the worst possible way. Still there will come the day for them to see the light. Just let’s hope it’s going to be soon…
