I know this is here somewhere but I need help finding it. When operating without an automated Z-axis, you need the operation to stop and ask for an adjustment. How do you instruct the G-code output to do this? Assuming makercam what are the commands to make this happen?

You find it in the GroundControl settings. The button is call z-axis installed on/off if I remember correctly.
If there is a z move in the gcode CG will pause and ask you to set the new depth.

I think once you do this a few times you will quickly realize how crtical a z axis is!

Yes, the only thing slower than the motorized z-axis is an unmotorized z-axis.
