Relieve chain tension

I drilled a 5/16 hole about an inch from the top of the sled. Drilled another about 8 inches from the top of the plywood in the middle of the sheet. Use GC to move up to an inch away and then slide sled up and put a bolt through both. Takes the tension off chains. Good idea / bad idea? Will it mess with calibration?

I do something similar when Iā€™m messing around. As long as the chain does not skip off the sprocket, you will be fine. If it does, for some reason, just go through the process of resetting the chains.
