Yep retract all produces small numbers, 2 or 3 more retract alls get everything to zero prior to extend all, mount to frame and calibration.

Will look into the router issue.

Pressing retract all will pretty much always give close to zero results, but if you extend the belts all the way out and then retract them is it still close to zero?

Some variance but close to zero.

Yeah, that doesn’t look like a magnet issue to me.

Can you try deleting your maslow.yaml file and index.html file and uploading them again? Starting fresh there might fix something

Hmm thats not right. Does clearing the browser cache and refreshing change anything? (Control+Shift+R I think)

Do you have a windows or Mac computer?

If you are on a PC the easiest thing to do is to fully reset everything by powering on the machine, plugging in a USB cable, and running the full\_install.bat file here:

 ![image](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex031/uploads/maslowcnc/original/3X/1/7/1796242df1ba97378b339e7d8a8b91f6b4968d4b.png)

That will reset absolutely everything back to the defaults.

Tried to reset but just get a red flashing led on the board and the following:

red led stopped so tried full install :

4th attempt it seems to have come back to life.

Will try to calibrate later or probably tomorrow.

These indicate that you need to unplug and plug back in the USB cable. i.e. something needs a reset, and the easiest way to do that is just unplug / re-plug

Apologize for chiming in here at this late date but I have been struggling with my machine since upgrading to 4.1.

The friction between the spools and new arms is very high on my unit. This is to the point that it was difficult to turn them by hand before assembling the halves. I worked them back and forth and lubricated them with silicone before assembling but I could hear the machine complaining when moving around (groaning and stuttering). The machine finally broke today after several days of me trying to use it. One of the spools actually had its teeth strip out during calibration and there is evidence that all the others have been stressed (deformed teeth). I did not notice any other contributing issues such as missing bearings, interfering belt guards, etc.

The bearing surfaces on all my arms feel dimpled and I not quite sure how to proceed except to order more spools and belts and hope they have a looser fit or barring that, make them looser by trying to sand or polish them.

</div>

I will add pics shortly, all four seem to have some stress on the teeth (slight deformation where the drive gear engages) but only one failed outright with five teeth being crushed. The machine had been running and in fact started cutting a panel before giving me a an estop due to a 15 mm loc error. I decided to run calibration again to see if it would help when the top right arm stopped taking up the slack on the belt.

My spools where alittle tight when I put them on the arms. So I sanded down the inside. The molding seam was pretty prevalent.

I’m worried about how tight the arm halves are screwed together to get the screws to reach the nylon locking feature of the nuts. I can feel a slight bulge/bump on the inside of the arms where the router will sit.

We still have to put the frame together at the woodshop so don’t know how soon we will be able to test.

</div>

Follow up to my problem with the arms on my 4.1 upgrade.

As previously posted the teeth on one of my spools (post 4.1 upgrade) got sheared and the other spools showed signs of stress on the teeth.

On disassembly it was obvious that the spools were binding on the arms and not due to foreign objects or due to belt guard interference.

During the subsequent rebuild of the machine I noticed that the fit of the new spools on the new arms was quite snug, but movement was smooth, so I completed the assembly.

To make a long story shorter… I am experiencing issues again and another disassembly show that the spools are starting to bind again.

I run my machine outside (under a canopy) and I am in Florida. I suspect that the temperature and humidity are causing the parts to expand.

I am now sanding/polishing the inside of the spools to get more clearance and see if that resolves the other issues.

Problem/solution is posted: [Spool fix](https://forums.maslowcnc.com/t/position-error-15mm/24154/21)
