Hello I’m new here.
I have a question what about using three-quarter melamine for the sled it would seem it would slide with less friction.
What are your thoughts?
it could, depending on the surface (and the condition of the melamine)

I’ve been thinking about using it when I get mine. Has it worked out for you?
Did anybody try melamine? I decided to use 3/4" MDF for the sacrificial backer board and it was right next to the 3/4" melamine so I got that for the sled. It seems like it will work well, though cutting it could be tricky. Also, wear gloves when handling it in the store - the melamine coating makes for a razor sharp edge.
