Are these normal behaviors?

I’m pretty sure we’re all running hardware 1.1 at this point, right? 1.2 is still in the future and 1.0 was only the beta testers

Confirmed here, but can try the 1.0 if that would help

@madgrizzle
Would you mind running the same Gcode without a bit to see if it’s reproducible? If so can you up load the Gcode?

I’ll give it a try tomorrow. I’m Jedi-ing tonight :star_struck:

@madgrizzle

I went the Jedi way- lastnight. It was good is all I will say.

Enjoy

Thank you

So here are the steps i took and the finding.

  1. Rename the .ini file
  2. start GC 0.99 and change the USB connection to COM6
  3. test motors by moving the sled
    Results:
pulsation on left motor, Both clockwise and counterclockwise
pulsation on right motor, only counterclockwise
  4. Change the Kinematicstype to Triangular and retationradius to 278.5
  5. test motor by moving the sled again
    Results:
Only pulsation on left motor clockwise

Let me know if you want me to run anything else. I will be road tripping to California for 10 days soon.

thanks

where in california?

Thank you for taking the time to test that.

Can I send you a new board to test? It really feels like a software thing to me because going back to .98 fixes the issue (right?), but I’m out of other things to try.

san francisco… Its going to be a fun 15 hours drive!

Correct, going back to 0.98 Fixes the issue.
You can send me a new board, But most likely i wont be able to test it until i come back from California, Im leaving Thursday morning.
Also, if you want me to probe anything on the board with a oscilloscope, just let me know.

johnny.

if either you or @madgrizzle wants a new board to test just shoot an email to info@maslowcnc.com with your address and we’ll send it your way. I’m still totally stumped on this one but I will keep thinking on it

Have a great time in SF!

I’ll be happy to test a new board, but I will be out of town next week and depending upon when it arrives, I might not be able to put it through much testing. I could also send my controller to someone that is in a better position to do comparisons.

But, if 0.98 fixes the issue, it really sounds like a code issue.

I see pulsing in the left motor, I’m using version .99 for both.

It doesn’t seem to affect the cuts though.

When I hear frequency and vibration (i.e, “pulsing/shuddering”), I think resonance. No judgement question: Is it possible to readily adjust the PWM frequency of the left motor?

OK - as the number of reports are moving up and this is related to .99 I’m going to lean away from hardware here. Have any of you tried 1.00 yet?

Thank you

I’m running 1.00. . .

Do you still see stuttering in 1.00 ?

Thank you

Yes. That’s what I was using when I first noticed it. I never really used 0.99.

Got it. Thank you for your continued participation.
