Building the simplest frame?

They would deflect as much as the straps around your buckets. 24" bar @ 4-6" no problem, anything taller-longer bar 36"-48"

Ok long answer is that with further experiments the buckets are still moving slowly on grass. I don’t think a single bucket full of water is a good solution. It is close so maybe groups of three buckets on grass or rough concrete might work but generally not a solid plan. Maybe buckets of sand or sand bags might work. Mats or chains under car tires seems like a better idea if you have two cars that you can park next to each other or a car with really high clearance that you like to crawl under. Staked down lawn anchors are very solid and work well after a few tries. That is currently my best plan for super simple frames if drilling or gluing to a floor isn’t an option. I don’t have a monster truck currently.

Update

As I am watching it try with ratchet straps around buckets there are more problems than just the bucket moving. The buckets flex and the straps move quite a bit. I think a wooden sled with sand painted on the bottom for friction and then two or three buckets of water on each sled with a solid anchor attached to the sled might work but that’s beyond my time limits today.

This did not work

1.22 did try valiantly so that was cool

So it thinks that it found a solution and it is letting me drive it around but I would not use this for anything I cared about. Here is 1.22 finding log if that is useful to anyone.

Also I think I need to make a shade hat for my little Maslow. Could probably just use one of those umbrella hats

Thank you for testing this. That’s been on my to try list for a long time and I haven’t done it because it’s alot of work to set up so I really appreciate you pushing the boundaries of what’s possible so we can all learn
