Ground Control calculated distance between motors different than tape measured distance

I like this motor-mount option (on the side) better than the on-the-top option. I wish I would have thought of this when I built mine. Is there any reason this shouldn’t be the default?

screws into the end grain are not going to be as strong as ones into the side
grain. If you were to use the alternate brackets I defined, that could be worked
around (make sure you use thick enough metal, what I see in the first post I
would expect to see flex under load)

They are from Lowe’s if you’re interested. They come with big center holes, the round part of the motor just behind the shaft fits well there if you dreamt them out about a mm. I welded some reinforcement to deal with flex. They do allright.

Ground control measures 3136 while my manual measurement is 3146. Is that ok?

This is what @Bee and I had made up, the wrap around the wood so that you can fasten from the top or the back. the shop that we had make them out of 1/8" steel charged us $300 for 6 sets, but I’m pretty sure other shops would charge far less (especially in larger quantities)
