I’ trying to cut a part which came out 2mm short in the y-direction.
I set the y-scale factor to 1.003, and was expecting it to be 2mm larger in y-direction. Instead it is 2mm shorter. I assume the Y-scale is used to multiple, correct?
Overall 4mm out?
There is a manual adjustment you can make in the maslow.yaml file FluidNC then Config Items Maslow_Scale_X and Maslow_Scale_Y.
Mine are set to 1.005 and 0.997 but this is a variable dependant on your setup.
I moved the Maslow so it the edge was aligned with the spoil board. I then jogged the Maslow 2000 mm, then measured the distance travelled from the edge of the spoil board to the corresponding point on the sled. Distance theoretical/distance measured should give a good value.
I used a laser measure to calculate how far the Maslow actually moved. Repeat process for other direction.
Some people have reported that this varies for different points on the grid.
Based on ian-ab’s reply I looked at my Maslow config and see that the X scale is 0.996 and the Y scale is 1.017.
Good to know. I will now have to check whether I need to tweak my defaults.

The x dimensions are spot on, but in y direction it is slightly too small.
I thought entering an y-scale >1.0 would result in a larger workpiece in that direction. Instead it came out smaller, which took me by surprise.
