How I achieved calibration finally

I have had the same endless loop problems many others have experienced. I have a non standard size frame laying horizontally on the ground. I hate changing more than one thing at a time - not knowing what actually solved the problem. However I did and here are the last set of changes I made which solved the problem.

  1. I did go back and clip the leads to the encoder boards. Mine were 0.075 inches to begin and under 0.040 afterwards. It is a pain to disassemble/reassemble.
  2. I measured my frame and manually entered the values in through FluidNC. Note: I made anchors that matched the height of the 4 cables - therefore I entered 0 for all 4 Z heights. And saved the values ( I think you need to go back to top to make sure it’s fully saved)
My “extend all” distance was within 1/2” of minimum necessary. I did pull sled down - tightening the to and tr belts.
Within 10 seconds of starting the fitness calibration calculations I knew this was going to be different. It still took several minutes (probably 5) but numbers were quickly over 1.0 on fitness.
    I hope this helps others.
