Long calibration process

Hi, I am currently in the process of calibration the M4. It’s been over an hour of automatic calibration and still the process continues.
Is this standard? Does the calibration process supposed to take so long?

Thanks

It can. This is noted in the setup documentation.

If you haven’t updated to the most recent firmware and are still using the firmware it would have shipped with, it will also be longer, as it was sped up considerably awhile back.

When it is doing calculations during calibration, that is happening on the machine you are using to access the “web” page you control it from and relies on the processing power of that machine. A faster computer will complete those calculations faster; I tried with my “shop” laptop and with the engineering-class machine I use for work and the latter was more than twice as fast when doing the final calculations.

Calibration completed successfully. Took about 90 minutes on my PC.
Hopefully will try my first cut soon.
Thanks for the info

I second @Carson_Barry’s recommendation to make sure that you are running the latest firmware and index.html versions. We worked on this a while back and it is WAY faster in newer versions of the firmware than in old versions.
