Hi. I received my 4.1 upgrade kit yesterday and started working on installing it. I’ve been following the written guide and the initial walkthrough video for the install. When I got to the step of installing the belt guard into one of the arm halves I felt like I hit a snag.
Either I’m doing something wrong or the length of the screws seems too short for this part. In the video it looks like the nylock nuts are used so that’s what I was using. Should it use the standard nuts instead?
Here’s how I currently have it installed. It just feels like the screw is too short to fully engage the nut and reach the locking portion:
It almost feels like the back of the arm’s screwholes should have similar countersinks to the inside to allow the screw heads to be recessed similar to this:
You are doing it right, I wish that I had made those recesses for the nuts a bit deeper.
I think that you are right that we should maybe recommend the standard nuts there, although the locknuts and the standard nuts are basically the same if we’re not engaging the locking portion of the nut with the threads
Ok cool. Thanks for confirming. I did try one using the standard nuts and it seemed easier to get them to engage on the threads so I’ll probably just use those.
Appreciate the same day response. You give better customer service than a lot of larger companies with dedicated customer support departments .
