Working through the upgrade. The bag of M12 with both lock nut or regular nut do not fit. They are not log enough to grab the nut. They need to be M14, M16 is too long. Idk I can’t for the life of me get them to go.
Alright first arm done! I found if I use a rounded Allen key and smack that nut I can get the screw started.
You need to pull the nut into place by putting the screw in from the inside before attempting to join the 2 halves. Same with the screw, pull it into place with a nut on the inside. Remove the temporary nut (or screw) after pulling each into place. This is explained in the upgrade video.
4.1 Upgrade Instructions — Maslow
Got cha, yeah I just finished the 4th arm using the hammer method.
Yes, we are all learning.
I also had trouble with the upgrade kit. After the second arm I started measuring the screw lengths and only used screws 11.6mm or longer. That helped. Basically all of the screws are shorter than 12mm. Half a millimeter is a full thread, so that’s significant.
This may not be a timely response but I saved time by using an Allen wrench tool just large enough to fit in the bolt and nut holes in the arm halves. By placing the plastic arm half on a table I was able to push each nut and or bolt into the plastic hole using the Allen wrench far enough to grab a thread with one exception; always the same nut hole on each arm half would not grab a thread, so five out of six were tight.Saved a lot of time though…
Add my notes as I am running thru the upgrade and following the instructions.
Removing the “9” bolts on the arm text is wrong and should read 8 bolts
Set aside the motor and… Section is duplicated and I think the first one is the one to be removed.
Seating the bolts in the arm spool I was fairly successful pushing hard with the torque driver.
For the nuts I was able to use a square (Robertson) #2 driver just because i avoided going back to the tool box for a punch tool.
The two bolts to close the halfs near the motor I felt needed some coaxing seating as well.
That’s all thru 2 arms so far.

Excellent catches on those typos, I’ve updated the text. Thank you for pointing those out!
