Maximum frame size? Yes, it is 5000mm per side

I think I might have tried with too big a frame. I can’t find a maximum frame size in the user guide or setup instructions. I have played with the frame calculators but generally saw that bigger was better if one was trying to have an accurate cut on a full sheet of 4 by 8 plywood. I am trying to just get started so put some stakes very firmly in the ground across my driveway. Roughly 5050mm across and 4500mm long The machine belts spooled out nicely at that distance with a config value of 3200 and there was still belt on the spool, although I don’t know how much. I saw the popup note on the config space and thought I was well under that. I was watching as the machine tried to calibrate and there was always extra belt on the spools. The belts keep snapping as the machine finishes the calibration cycle. I have no idea what is going wrong and it feels like a good size space to keep the plywood in the middle of the green. I just noticed that one of the frame calculators won’t accept values that big but It isn’t anywhere that I can find in the general maslow documentation.

This may be of interest

Added 1 Metre Extension to all belts and went back to Horizontal

when you say the belts keep snapping, is that that they are coming off of the spools? or are they breaking somewhere in the middle?

If they are pulling out of the spools, it’s that you need to leave more on the spools to be reliable (so the link Ian sent is a good thing to look at)

if they are snapping elsewhere, I would look at your z offsets, if they are badly wrong, you can run into grief

They are snapping at the anchor ends just out of the anchors. It is not the z offset, for the one that i did not catch the remaining belts retracted about a meter more each.

Thank you

Bar confirmed. The software can’t think over 5000mm per side. Also thank you to dlang and Ian_ab that the belts can’t go that far either for any sort of reasonable motion across a full sheet.
