Hello all!
I receive my Maslow 4 and have completed all the assembly but ran into an issue during calibration. I’m having trouble with the Z-Axis. The motor nearest the power supply doesn’t operate. The cables are JUST long enough to plug each motor into the “wrong side”, so I swapped the plugs and found that both motors function (properly, I think).
It seems that the control board isn’t sending the proper signal to the side closest to the power supply???
I’ve updated the firmware…not sure what to do next.
I have the same issue although for me it’s the motor on the opposite side to the power supply. Initially after assembling and installing the firmware both motors were working and I was able to lower the z-axis all the way down while it was still sat on my workbench. The next day while getting ready to run calibration I noticed that the ne z-axis motor wasn’t running and like Matt I switched the cable to the other port on the PCB and the motor works.
I assume it’s a faulty PCB as I’ve seen on other posts that there has been a QA issue with the supplier, how do I go about getting a new board?
Regards
Steve
Quick update, I found that if I press down on the plug on the PCB for that motor it runs so it’s a dodgy connection on the board. Maybe there is a way to fix that connection, I saw a post about re-soldering the connection which I assume would be the pins on the underside of the board.
Any advice?
Hi @bar! I seem be having a similar problem to the first post with the connector closest to the power supply input. The motors seem to function normally when tested like the original post. Any help would be much appreciated!
Interesting. It’s usually the driver chip (the chip under the heatsink closest to where the motor plugs in) which is the issue, but it’s possible for it to be the connector too. Do you see any of the pins on the connector looking funny?
Either way, I will DM you both codes for replacement boards now.
Newbie here. I just finished putting together my Maslow 4.1 and I have the same issue as the original post. Also, when I tried to retract the belts only 2 of the belts retracted the other 2 did nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
Also new to Maslow 4.1. I am having the same issue and also tested to make sure both motors work by swapping the inputs. Did anyone come up with a solution? Please help. I would really love to get this up and running.
