I agree - I wrote the GCodeClean utility which started life with just the NIST spec for GCode, but even then not all ‘standard’ GCode commands are supported.
For example, G17 is supported (by default), but not G18 or G19.

realistically, gutter compensation isn’t used much, especially for woodworking,
the rest is resonable.
but you very seldom manipulate the gcode directly, you almost always are using
CAM software to convert your design into gcode, and it does everything for you.
