I recently made a gear generator that can be imported into any project to make it easy to make gears:

There is also a ring gear and a 2GT belt sprocket version.

There is also a “gear spacing calculator” import available which will compute how far apart two gears should be to interface correctly.

I am quite pleased with this. One of my main motivations for buying a maslow and playing with it is eventually to be able to build cheap and good accessible printmaking presses and other related machines.

This is my untested model for a Hollander Beater for paper making to be cut out of layers of HDPE using Maslow4.1
It still needs holes for putting allthread through to hold all the layers together and you would have to cut the lower teeth slots by hand ideally at an angle of about 5 degrees across the bottom after assembling the base. The teeth would then need grinding to match. Either carborundum in the water or sanding as it spins.

Hollander beater

parts list:

HDPE sheet stock 1 cm thick
Aluminum Bar stock 1/4 Inch by 1 inch
Stainless steel screws to drill through the Aluminum Bar stock to hold it in place
Axle Stock (could be a nice keyed axle, could be a steel pipe.)
Hinge Rod (Maybe Aluminum so it doesn’t corrode?
2 Bearings in pillow blocks or bearings to make inside your own pillow blocks for the axle
2 Long Bolts ideally with handles and matching nuts for lifting
2 Short bolts with matching nuts for the lifting bolts to sit on.
Long all thread and bolts to hold the layers together.
Electric Motor, belt and pulley to fit axle.
Mounting hardware for electric motor.
I am thinking that you could drop this into a concrete mixing bucket and add some long strips of plastic to form the raceway, the concrete bucket would be the waterproof part and the long strips of plastic could guide the pulp.

Pen holder that swaps out for the router. Needs some refining. Did the whole thing in Abundance, design to cut. It went ok.

What did you cut today?

First try at a universal pen tool that can be swapped out for the router. This version works but I want to refine it. I designed and cut it using abundance. cutting things that need mm precision with the maslow kind of worked but it needed a lot of sanding. The design could be 3d printed as a bunch of rings or cut from wood as a bunch of rings, held together but all thread rods with some inner tube rubber circles with holes in the middle to hold the pen or tool.
