What is causing my machine to cut like this

I’m trying to cut out a part with my new machine. I think the chain is skipping, but I’m not sure. I haven’t witnessed it skip. When I cut the part in the picture, it cut’s the two bottom holes with no issue, but when it goes to cut the top holes, I get the cuts in the second picture. I’ve ensured that the sled is balanced, and it looks like the chains are on the same plane as the sled.

I would guess it is chain skip after all, don’t know really. But you did convince me to get a piece of foam to do the test cuts :slight_smile:

Foam is cheaper and easier on the bits. :blush:
