First project slapped together. Maslow 4.0 cutting rough 3/4 plywood. I made a rack for some cheap storage bins I got recently.
I had to cut without dust collection because I was getting the 15mm error that I believe is static? I saw there was a mod but I’m going to upgrade to 4.1. Do I still need an anti static hose etc once I’ve upgraded?
One thing I did run into was some trouble cutting sharper corners, or when ramping down to the next layer. The sled was a bit tippy and my guess is that there is too much friction to the rough plywood. Maybe my cuts were too aggressive? Single flute 1/4" (from maslow store), dwp611 set to 1.5, 5mm depth of cut.
I’m horizontal and this happens even far away from the corners. There’s no wax on it etc but the polycarbonate seems fairly low friction. Does it make a big difference? I have some 1/8 umhw I may cut out into a disc and attach.
I also had a thought that running compressed air to the sled, with a bunch of tiny holes, would turn it into an upside down air hockey table. Just a tiny cushion of air which would also blow excess debris out the way as the sled approaches. Unlikely to help, but a fun bad idea nonetheless.
Having a lot of fun with this machine, thanks to all the community.
