Belt guide flexes when tighetened down (arm assembly)

I’m assembling the arms and the belt guide seems to flex when all three screws are tightened down. The reason seems to be the two of the standoffs can’t fit into the recesses while one can, so it pulls that half lower while tightening. Should this be happening?

Interesting, I haven’t seen that happen before. Is it flexing so much that it is causing an issue with the belt passing through there?

I haven’t actually gotten that far yet, still assembling. But, it makes sense why it’s doing that, that other standoffs have additional geometry that prevent them from getting pulled into the circular indents (circled in red). The third one (green arrow) does not, so it gets pulled down in when tightened, thereby flexing the guide. Do I have older parts? I received my order last April, just now getting around to assembling it.

I loosened the M3 bolt enough to avoid it flexing, that was the only thing I could do, other than gluing something to the 3rd standoff to prevent it from being able to sink into the indent in the arm.

yes, these are older versions of the belt guards. strictly speaking they should
not be needed, but if the belts are lose and flex as they are being retracted,
they can get caught in the gears. the guards were an afterthoguht to the design
to try ad fix this, and it’s mostly, but not entirely worked.

No, this is the new one and there’s only been one version of that design so they aren’t out of date.

Are all four behaving the same way or just that one?

All four. So sounds like that is not expected?

Mine also seemed to tighten weird. I left the screws slightly loose. It has been a while. That was a 4.1 upgrade kit

I’m just going to move forward then so I can get this thing cutting!
