Bolt spinning, how do i unscrew it?

just started putting togeather the 4.1. I ended up with a bolt that spins when i try to unsecew it. (its one of the six that goes around the center of one of the arms) I cant work out any way to get a grip on it without destroying the arm… any suggestions?

if it’s one of your 4.0 arms, they will be replaced (you just reuse the spool)

sometimes a torq bit can grip where a hex is slipping

it was from the new 4.1 kit. I forgot to inset the bolts first, so was trying to unscrew to do that. the torx on both sides doesnt help, the screw is to far through

picture please, I’m missing something.

is it that the head is stripped out?

the bolts side has the issue
I assume the plastic surrounding the bolt has broken
As that bolt has been spinning for days

try wedging a small screwdriver in the hole next to the nut

If you over torque the nut it will spin. I also had this problem on one of them. I managed to get it out by putting a small flat head screwdriver down the side of the nut while unscrewing it. It was very difficult.

I’d suggest not using an electric screwdriver for the build.

if the screwdriver method fails you can drill it out from the nut side. get a drill bit the same size as the bolt and go bzzzzzz while keeping the bolt end from spinning with the allen key

The pressure being applied to the drill when you are trying to remove the screw is keeping it in place. Apply more force on the screw from the nut side with a scribe, awl, small screwdriver to push it out. You may be able push it out without screwing it.

If the screw head is stripped and the screw is still engaged in the nut. You will have to buy a extraction kit. I believe bar posted one on the not shop.

Be careful if you try to drill it out. There is a good chance that you will damage the arm.
