I learned a lesson the hard way today 
It’s -5C (23F) in the shop today. I decided to bundle up and get a few cuts done. Turns out the belts do not like the cold. I snapped 3 of them at separate times today while extending them.

While extending them!!? Like they broke just by hand?
That is WILD.
Yeah. They broke while doing the little jiggle to get the extension going. I guess sub freezing temps are too much for the tiny metal wire embedded in the belts.
