I just had an example, used Carbide Create to make a lozenge shaped box (50x120mm, 25mm radius rounded ends). The optimizer turned the ends into 2 arcs with a tiny segment between. CC must have not quite handled it right when making the curves, so I’m not sure the optimizer could have done anything different. I did the box without the optimizer (too big a hurry to try out the new ESP32 controller on the ZB mini), the lid with. Might be expectations but the curves sounded smoother optimized, and it cut the gcode from 90K to 60K bytes with the default options. Fun project, high school soft maple scrap from an unfinished small plaque.
