try waxing the bottom of the sled so that it slides easier.
this is a problem. changing your anchors so they aren’t as far down from the
arms could help here (but you would need to adjust your Z values in the yaml
file before doing calibration and need to make sure that your anchors don’t add
flex)
Is this to be expected, or should I adjust the calibration setup?
reducing the calibration size would prevent it from going into these areas for
calibration, but you would still have the same problems in those areas when
trying to cut.
what size frame do you have? if you have a smaller frame, it could be that you
just can’t cut in the full 1000x2000mm area
Sorry about the non-working iCloud link, here is the wobble video:
This isn’t even the worst wobble, I doubt that waxing the sled will help…?
My frame dimensions are 2530 x 3240 mm, I was hoping to cut full-size (1220 x 2440 mm) sheets.
I realise now that the obstruction of the belt by the dust collector may not be a problem when cutting, because then the router will be several cm’s higher…
I will consider your suggestion to raise the anchors. (sounds a bit nautical )
that wobble is exactly what happens when the sled isn’t sliding properly, so waxing it (or just cutting on a slicker surface than your wasteboard) can help
I’m having the same issue with my Maslow at the moment. I’ve gradually flattened out the angle the frame is on to attempt to sort this out but to no avail.
Just wondering what sort of wax you would recommend for this?
I think that is normal. During calibration there isn’t proper tension in the lower belts which help keep the sled pressed to the wood. The suggestions to lubricate it and tilt the frame more will help, but also as long as it’s not tilted while it’s actually taking the measurements I don’t think that will hurt anything
