Calibration Updates

Just want to say a massive Kudos to everyone who’s been involved with the recent calibration improvements!

I went to re-calibrate my machine with v1.17 and I’m so impressed. Fitness improvements are happening so much faster, and finishing in a predictable amount of time. I didn’t have to figure out the right grid size or the right number of points - it just worked.

This feels like what open source is all about to me - an engaged community making rapid changes to constantly improve on a really cool product. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for saying something! It’s easy to get focused on where we still have work to do and forget to look at all the progress that we’ve made.

Things are getting better steadily I think and there is still a lot of room to keep improving which is exciting!

hi! I have a question, I hope you can help me with calibration. cause I tried but didn’t work.

I Know there is a new updated files v1.17 , should I replaced those on the fluidnc window before calibration?

I Follow the calibration guide videos on youtube but im lost.

at first I edited the maslow.yaml file as the guide says. but in another video it says that is not neccesary edit it anymore cause you can write meassuremeants directly.

in configuration button just show this , not the length and wide of frame

I hope someone can help me with a detailed process of calibration with v1.17

Im lost , and sorry for my english , is not my first language

You should replace the index.html.gz file and the maslow.yaml file. There should be no need to edit those files anymore. Here is a quick start guide to the latest version:

On the setup menu there is a test button. Can you press that and check what version information it displays. There should be two displayed something like;
Index.html Version: v1.17
[MSG:INFO: Firmware Version: v1.17
Copy and paste what you get here. I suspect your system may be running Pre V1.0 versions

This video explains how to go from pre V1.0 to the later versions
Installing Firmware 1.0 and substitute version 1.17 for 1.0 in video.
Download the either the fluidnc-maslow4-1.17-win64.zip for Windows or fluidnc-maslow4-1.17-posix.zip for Apple from (Release V1.17 · MaslowCNC/Maslow_4 · GitHub) and unzip.
You will need to connect to the Maslow via an USB cable to your computer.
Go to the fluidnc-maslow4-1.17-win64 (windows) and run full-install.bat
If this doesn’t work you may have to press the reset button on Maslow as described in the video.

Did you press Test button?

This usually means that your index.html.gz and firmware.bin do not match

the remainder of the time you have a corrupted maslow.yaml file.
