Could we possibly organize a fully comprehensive list of bits and settings and maybe an aluminum sub-catagory

i would love to help with organizing a starter guide on all the info you need for your first cuts to go as smoothly as possible, including but not limited to bits and the info for running said bits the best for different materials (wood, plastic, aluminum, etc) (i saw one someone started but it seems abandoned and sparse on info) and an aluminum or metalworking section, or maybe even just a few different categories or tags (metalworking, carpentry, etc) for people that are doing metal and new cuts in general to help them have a good base line to start from? i have just started using my maslow and just got it working fully and had quite a hard time finding all the info i needed to get it running smoothly, like how far to raise it to start it, how to set the z home, what settings, bits and especially rpms to use, i love this product and the idea behind it and want to see it become a very dependable, and easy to assemble and run machine for anyone

I think that the key here is just to go for it and it will be OK.

There is a LOT of info online that makes it sound like this is really technical with calculators and stuff, but you don’t really need any of that. Folks coming from the world of machining bring a lot of technical info that isn’t super necessary for cutting wood with the kind of precision that we’re doing.

The reason that a lot of efforts like this get abandoned is that folks try something and it works and then write it down, then try going 10% faster and that also works, and then write it down and then go 10% faster and it still works and then the document just isn’t very interesting so it doesn’t get maintained

I started this list which basically covers what you’re asking for. It’s a work in progress, and every contribution helps.
