Seeking to set up my angled cutting frame. Long story short, I can’t easily source the metal channel where I am, and it’s not recommended on the Maslow site. Dressed and straight time as rare here as chicken teeth.
looked at designing my own channel version and have it fabricated - it appears extremely expensive. I can readily get timber ply sheets of various grades relatively easily, so my question:
Has anyone made a cutting table out of plywood sheets (2440x1200)? If so, can you share your design?
I am not sure if they do the whole square or cut the area with ‘arms’ for the anchors, etc.
Here is the frame library where we are trying to gather some of the designs and ideas that people have for frames. Are you going to do vertical or horizontal? are you going to need to move it?
At the beginning of the document there is a list of frame guidelines. Mostly the stiffer that you can make the frame, the better. There is also a section that has links to dlang’s frame calculator that may help with planning what area can be accurately cut. Hope that helps.
I don’t have a permanent place for mine and have not been using it very long but have had some luck with the frame listed in there as a folding frame. The standard 2 by four stud wall frame from the website can be scaled and seems to work well for many people. I tried a metal pipe one and it flexed too much in the z direction. I guess that has been a problem with channel strut frames too.
There was one use that had laid down 3 plywood sheets on the floor making up 8x12ft frame. If I recall. I cannot remember if they were attached or just butted together.
