I built my maslow last night, the issue im having is trying to make signs, maybe the spacing is to small, but im using the upcut bit that came with the kit, and trying to carve its ripping the spaces in-between the design out causing them to blend together. Is there a special bit needed to carve. Sorry im new to all this.

There are two factors I would mess with. The first is the depth of each cut. The less aggressive the pass depth, the less tear-out you will see. The second thing you can mess with is the quality of the wood you are cutting. Some materials tend to tear out a lot, while other materials won’t at all.
Thanks for the reply I’ll have to mess with it some more, I actually went and got a smaller bit today and its helping out alot with the thinner cuts.
