in the “configs” panel there are options for 5x5 and 3x3
I have only gotten 9x9 to work (takes like 30 minutes)
takes 20 min
I figure that with the right “calibration grid size”
we can do 5x5 or even 3x3
has anyone pulled off a 3x3 or 5x5?
Cheers
or is there a way to save calibration
so I can reuse a previous calibration when plugging it back in again?
Yep - you copy the maslow.yaml file from the machine to your local computer/tablet.
You can get at this via the FluidNC tab.
Change it’s name to something meaningful for you. And just remember to change it back whenever you need to reupload it back to the M4
I do 3x3 and 5x5 all the time, when those don’t work what is the issue?
Yes! Your calibration is saved automatically! Next time you want to use the machine just do Retract All → Extend All → Apply Tension and you will be good to go. No need to run calibration every time! It should be a one time thing that you don’t need to do again

@bar, this is a common enough misunderstanding that I think we need to do
something different.
When someone does a calibration, Can we do a test to see if the coordinates are
exactly rectangular and if they are not, popup a messages along the lines of
“It appears that you already have a saved calibration , are
you sure you want to overwrite with a new calibration?”

“It appears that you already have a saved calibration. Would you like to download the old settings to your computer before overwriting them with the new calibration?”
Yes, I like that idea. How do we feel about also adding a popup message at the end of calibration which says “Your machine is calibrated! You do not need to run calibration again unless you change the size of your frame” or something like that?

Yes, that would be a good idea as well.
