How to determine end of life for a bit

This is what to expect from a fresh tool:


These parts were cut with a tool at the end of it’s life:

In a separate case, here are two router bit of a same model, one dull, and one (almost) new. These are the side view of the cutting corner. Note the scale reference.

Change of colour:


The bottom bit was over heated. Look into the relation of chip-load (transfers the heat away form the bit)/Bit-Size/Number of Flutes/RPM/Feed-Rate if you get this.

Looking at it today,
/Depth of cut per pass
seems missing above
