in construction they go in the holes of the arm but are able to just be shaken out if i flip it is that a problem or?

That is not a problem as long as you keep them in there long enough to assemble
the arms.
since you are at that step, check the fit of the spools on each half of the arm.
make sure that it turns freely

I think if you look for a 10mm linear bearing you will quickly find something
that will work.
