JST-XH Encoder Boards, Controller Boards, and Wires are Here!

It will! We will send out an email.

Hopefully today! They didn’t fully sell out, but we had some issues at the fulfillment center and the guy there who could sort it out was out on Friday. I will DM you a code for a free replacement right now.

Waiting eagerly for the new Kickstarter, and want to grab a backup JST-XH controller board, since I’ve had some manini (small) issues with mine (one of the stepper connections is iffy). I’ve got the tools and ability to reflow those solder joints, but want a second just in case.

Mahalo,

ETA, just backed the Kickstarter at the $35 level (plus $25 shipping…WOW!). Looking forward to the future!

Im interested in the Upgrade too. The shipping costs of 50$ to Austria seemed a lot to me. As there is added custom fees on top as well…

It ends up being a pretty big box because of the 8 arms that have to fit in there. It’s not quite as big as the full kit, but it’s still pretty big :pensive:

Is it an Option to Upgrade without the Arms?

If you don’t want to replace the arms you also wouldn’t need the updated idler gear or bearings (since those fit into the updated plastic). Probably the easiest option in that case would be to order directly from our website instead of through kickstarter. Hopefully not long after the kickstarter kits ship out we will have the updated parts available a-la-carte in our shop so you can grab just the bits you want that way.

Thanks for clarification! I think I will go for the kickstarter! :+1:

Can you elaborate on what issues you had? Curious if I need to check out the JST board since I’ve had a ton of issues after converting.

I suspect I was careless/clumsy with it; I had an issue where the connector for one of the Z-axis steppers was intermittent at best. I reflowed the solder on those connections, and Z got a lot more reliable. I’m going to do it again—I did not have the best tip for my iron for smaller pads/connections, and I didn’t have a magnifier to help my old eyes—but I was able to complete the cuts I had in the queue before I had to pack up the machine to get it out of the way for the production.
