Maslow 4.1 - assemble with not shop bits

Hi all,

I have opted to have the button presser, extractor and guards printed from the non-shop. It’s taking a while to obtain these - question is- My Maslow 4.1 is still in the box, can I assemble the 4.1 and add these parts when they arrive without needing to dismantle at all? Can someone share the experience?

the button presser is completely separate

the 4.1 kit includes the latest belt guards, you don’t need to get them printed

the dust extractors screw down to the sled, you should be able to assemble
everything and then add these (although it may be easiest if you don’t put the
frame assembly on the linear rails to get easiest access to the screws.

so yes, you can assemble everything before you get those parts (I would consider
using the turtle clamps as well, but if you decide to use them, you can still
assemble most of it while waiting for those

I would suggest buying these bolts Amazon.com: BNUOK 180pcs M3 x 14mm Hex Socket Head Cap Screws Bolts, 304 Stainless Steel 18-8, Allen Socket Drive,Bright Finish, Full Threads, with Hex Spanner : Industrial & Scientific as the
heads fit the hex openings better and the extra 2mm does a better job of
engaging with the nylock nuts (as a bonus, the thicker heads don’t strip as
easily as the low-profile stock ones)

and before you assemble it, make sure that the spools spin freely on each arm
half, many people have needed to sand the spools (especially on the early kits)
to rotate easily. When you bolt the two halves of the arm together, the bolt
heads and nuts can create slight bulges in the plastic that can make the spool
tight, so push the nut in all the way and then check the spool fit.

don’t forget to lube the spools before you assemble the arms.
