So I just opened up the box with my Maslow 4.1 Kit. Most of the items were just thrown around in the box. I’m watching the tutorial on putting it together and it’s asking for me to put magnets into these small black parts. The magnets are already in the parts and the parts are dirty with some kind of dusty white stuff on them. The little bag that the black parts are in is completely dirty as well. The belts are already installed on the parts and just flung in the box. I’m thinking maybe I received a used item. Is this normal for the parts to be just flung around everywhere in the box, other than the few larger parts? One of the motors wasn’t in the slot like the others. The electronic boards were just flung into the box. There was no damage to the box, so I don’t know what to think.
I just read another post from someone else and a Maslow rep replied that they don’t use clear tape. Mine was taped with clear tape.
Normally everything is packed in pretty well, where did you purchase it from. The magnets do come in the rollers now, but the belts should not be installed. Was this an upgrade kit or a complete Maslow 4.1? Can you upload some photos?
That all looks normal to me! If anything was damaged in shipping just let me know and I can send you a replacement.
We did switch to clear tape for the most recent batch of kits so I can confirm that is not weird, although you are correct that in the past we were using brown tape.
Okay. So, you said first that the belts shouldn’t be pre-installed, but now you said it all looks normal. So they should have been installed with the complete 4.1 kit?
Hi, Ian here, I am a customer, Bar is the authority. My kit came without the belts installed, I was one of the early customers, so things change as people report problems, suggest improvements. I have had no problems with the support service.
Okay. Sounds good. I just want to make sure I don’t have issues with parts being bad or used. I bought the Maslow 2 when it first came out and it went together just fine. There was a guy making parts that connected to it so it would catch most of the saw dust and send it through my shop vac. Is that something that is still available for the Maslow 4.1?
