My Maslow 4.1 it keeps getting stuck Midway in a calibration and says on the computer to restart and computing Rob and waiting it doesn't do anything after a few markers and went through like six movements and stop every time can't finish

My Maslow 4.1 won’t continue past the calibration to get stuck midway in the calibration and it says restarting collaboration I don’t know for what all the belts and motors work why does it keep stopping Midway into celebration

Hi James, this sucks. It would help if we could see some logs.

How do I get the saved logs

You can either just copy and paste it or there should be a “Save Serial” button just below where the information is printed out

Ok ill do that tomorrow

Maslow-serial.log.txt (250 KB)

I sent the logs

My calibration took 3 hours. I had to keep moving the mouse to keep the computer from shutting down before completing the calibration. During the entire process, I kept thinking something is wrong; but then the message appeared that calibration succeeded.

It looks to me like there is something funky going on with your first measurement.

Can you try giving the machine a little tug to sort of simulate gravity at the beginning the way I do here:

I tried it

What should I do I’m on the latest software as well I’m super excited to use this machine to cut out artwork

What is the issue that you are seeing? It’s hard to recommend anything without more information

From the logs:

MSG:INFO: Machine Position found as X: -11.151 Y: -122.484]
[MSG:INFO: Succeeded]
[MSG:INFO: Measured waypoint 0]
[MSG:INFO: Center point off by: TL: 0.000 TR: 0.000 BL: 15.549 BR: 168.356]
[MSG:ERR: Center point off by over 100.000mm]
[MSG:INFO: Frame size automaticlaly adjusted to 2722.362549 by 2722.362549]
[MSG:INFO: Machine Position computed as X: -8.278 Y: -100.410]
[MSG:INFO: Measuring Frame Flex]
[MSG:INFO: Flex measurement: TLBR: 105.375 TRBL: 3.772]
[MSG:INFO: Measured waypoint 1]

I’m assuming there isn’t really 105mm of flex in the frame, so maybe something funky in TL or BR arms?

Great catch!

it could be that the belts aren’t pulling fully tight. Maybe try increasing the calibration retraction force?

Oh should I increase the belt forces

I still haven’t heard a reply should I increase the belt tensions and also should I change the size of my my frame on the machine because I made it slightly smaller because I thought it can really fit in any size

Sorry for the confusion, yes that is the next thing I would try

Can you send me instructions and the files if possible to update to the latest firmware by Android device wirelessly if possible and I’m going to install the Maslow on a new 10x8 frame that I already built at first it was on the floor now it’s going to be on the frame and with the new update I hope everything should correct itself

I believe that I’ve heard of someone doing the update from and android phone, but I haven’t actually tried it myself. I think that the process should be the same as in the user guide, but the process of downloading and uploading files is a little bit tricky on a phone since phones handle files differently

I’d recommend updating the firmware and the maslow.yaml and index.html files all together to make sure we’re getting a fresh start with everything reset
