New fast fold up frame experiment for 4.1 Updated with chain

Another good couple of sessions with this frame. Nice. Tried it vertical as well. Chains on the sides loosened a little bit. Otherwise worked great I suppose I could put turnbuckles on all four sides

Sweet! I wonder if you could do the same thing a little lighter out of engineered joists. Possibly with a hub instead of hinges?

I think he’s using 2x8s for this, so a joist with a pair of 2x4s and the web
would probably not be lighter.

but you could use them and it could be even stiffer.

They are 2 by 8s I can move it slowly by myself once it is together but four 2by 8s and a piece of osb is pretty heavy together. when it is taken apart it is super easy to move.

I am having fun trying to design a set of joists with Abundance (not finished yet) so that the maslow could cut it’s own frame. Not finished yet but fun. I still need to make the holes and drill holes for the chains and to make it lighter. I also want to add optional extensions and belt extensions. I am having trouble with it loading all at once but it seems to work if I click on the molecules and tell it to reload from github. I think for this design if I cut the outsides of the beams from thin mdf and the insides from something thicker it could be like a good engineered joist.
