Now the dry run seems to be okay, but the Wifi connection issue is back.

Well didn’t complete the dry-run. Don’t know whjere to start with this:

I suspect the calibration was a false positive. Anyway too late - off to bed.

This probably means that the find anchors step didn’t go well.

what is your frame? where are your anchors relative to the top of the spoilboard
that you are calibrating on? the default values assume that the bottom of the
anchors are on the same plane as the bottom of your sled. If they are lower, it
would also make the belts hit the dust collection port more, so I’m guessing
that they are lower

for example, if you are using anchors in concrete as your frame, then the
anchors are lower than your spoilboard (which sits on top of the concrete).

if your anchors are all the same distance above or below the spoilboard, you can
use the spoilboard/wasteboard thickness setting to compensate for this (positive
values say your spoilboard is higher than the anchors) then do the ‘find
anchors’ step again.

Morning David,

I have printed the frogmouth anchors and they are sitting on my timber floor. I have an 18mm spoli board which I have already compensated for in the settings. Work piece is set to 0mm as there is none. Photo below shows the set up. They are not quite square but the Maslow spots and adjusts for this. I think this a pretty simple setup?

when you say you compensated for the 18mm spoilboard in your settings, how did
you do that?

since you are using the frogmouth anchors, you have to account for the distance
up from the ground to the bottom of the frogmouth.

I use these bolt down anchors to move the belts up to near level (different
hight for each anchor)

Apologies for the slow reply. life has got in the way and I haven’t had a chance to touch this all week, and won’t this weekend.

Maybe I am being naive, but the setup in this page does not imply anything is needed to compenate for the anchor heights:

When I say I compensated, I sent the spoil board depth in the settings to 18mm, does this not get fed into the calculations?

My pins connecting to the frogmouths are over size so I could lift them up for a test. If this is just an anchor height issue, great, but reading of the tutorials I have done does not imply there is an issue.

My anchors are at about 3.4m x 3.4m. Again, the turuial vids do not suggest they have to be perfectly square so I didn’t get them perfect.

setting the spoilboard depth is providing the information needed for the
compensation

but if you put a 18mm board on the floor as your spoilboard, but then have your
frogmouth anchors lif the anchors 12mm off of the floor, that means that your
spoilboard thickness is effectively 6mm, not 18mm

they do not need to be prefectly square/rectangle, but I wanted toget an idea of
the size because we have had people who had problems finding anchors because
their frames were enough of an odd size that they were getting out of ‘the
green area’ of the frame size they had

see http://lang.hm/maslow/maslow4_frame.html and put in your frame dimensions to
get an idea of the optimum area. the errors that you get going slightly outside
the green normally don’t matter, but if you do so while running find anchors,
that introduces errors into the calculations

3.4m square may be a bit tall to cover a full plywood sheet well. look at the
tool I lined to and feel free to ask questions.
