I’m setting up my Maslow4 for the first time and when I get to the step to input my frame size there is no “Config” button in the setup window. My hunch is that I need to start from scratch but I’m not sure what is the best way to do this. I’ve downloaded the most recent firmware (VO.84) and I’m running this on MacOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I really just need to know where I can change the values for the frame size in FluidNC. I can move forward from there to do the calibration. Currently the belts are not extending far enough to do this. Thanks!
No Config button in Setup? That’s highly unusual. I believe the button layouts is based on the index.html.gz file, so I would guess that there’s something wrong there. Make sure that you’ve updated all the core update files (firmware, yaml file, and index.html.gz to the latest release). For the index.html.gz and yaml files, you also want to be sure that the file names and extensions are not getting changed by your computer before you are uploading them to the M4. As an immediate workaround, the calibration settings are actually in the yaml file and the options in Config act as an interface for those options so that when you change the Config settings, it automatically changes those settings in the yaml file for you. Because of that, you can also edit the yaml file directly in a text editor, save the changes, and upload the changed yaml file to the M4. I think it’s best to figure out the underlying issue of why your Config is missing, but editing the settings in the yaml file directly can at least allow you to bypass that menu until the other issue is solved.
Thank you for that response! It answered all my questions. I did make a point of downloading the most recent .index and .yaml files and making sure the names hadn’t changed before uploading them to the M4. I’m going to try again and see what happens. I agree that figuring out the underlying issue is best but I appreciate knowing how to get around the problem just in case. I’ll let you know how it goes. Cheers!
Success! After reinstalling the latest firmware along with the .index and .yaml files everything worked as it should and I was able to complete the calibration. Thanks for the help.
(For Mac users out there I suggest downloading the files by right clicking on the link and using “download linked file as”. This will insure that the file has the correct name and size when dowloaded.)
