During the inital setup I tried to lower the z-axis all the way,
but one motor stopped working about 2 cm before hitting the bottom.
The other one works fine, even if I switch the connectors on the board.
I adjusted the second motor, so that both are at about the same height, so it shouldnt be a problem with tension.
Any idea what else I could try?
General troubleshooting:
Ensure you have the latest released firmware, index.html, and maslow.yaml on your device.
If this is the initial calibration, make sure you have entered a best guess in config at the frame anchor points and selected a calibration grid.
For Z I’ve seen in some posts that the maslow.yaml has an impact, but I’m not sure this is your case. Does that motor travel up ok from where it stops? any obstructions on the lead screw?
I can’t see any obstructions, but you gave me an idea, so I picked up the router and then tried to move the z-axis. It still did not work, but I can definitely feel the motor trying to move, which is not there when i disconnect the motor.
So I’ll disassemble the machine and then we will see if the motor can move on its own.
That seems to have worked.
I removed the screws of the stepper motors from the sled, put everything on the side and then worked the motors with my hands a little bit.
I moved the motors up and down a bit with the ui while holding them with my hands and there were no problems.
Then I reattached them to the sled and now everything works fine
Thank you for your help!
