Retracting Belt Issues

Hi All. Is anyone else having trouble with or know a trick to getting belts to retract?

One and now two motors wont retract when i hit retract all. It says the belt is pulled tight when that is certainly not the case.

Sometimes im able to extend and then retract them but it ia getting worse and i cant even seem to do that anymore.

Im running 1.17 but have had the issue with 1.19 too. I gave up on that and reverted.

A known issue is tightness of the spool in the arm which can get worse over time.
A couple of questions,
What Retraction force are you using? (see Setup then Config)
Is it Maslow 4.1? or the earlier 4.0?

Im using 4.1 and i reduced my force to 1100 on the config.

Ive been able to get it working but it is certainly taking longer to get it packed up and deployed again.

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you. I recently had a problem with a damaged spool jamming, some of the teeth were bent and it was jamming, unpredictably. I replaced the spool.
I think it is important to smooth the spool bearing surfaces, so the spools rotate easily. Since I have done this, I am able to reliably retract with only 600 Retraction force.

Ok interesting. By spool do you mean the white cables? Or the gears attached to the motors?

the big plastic pice that the toothed belt is glued in to.

Oh wow gotcha. Ill have to take the thing apart to get into that.

As of now i was able to run the calibration on 1.17 and it is doing ok. It doesnt seem to have a problem when running , just retracting.

Ill open it up if the problem persists.

Thank you
