Rollers on the sled

Would it be possible to integrate some type of small wheels or rollers into the sled to reduce (literal) drag?

the problem is that these wheels/rollers/sliders/whatever may fall into cuts
that you have made and cause things to stick.

uhmw trim might work, it has a very low coefficient of friction. If you use one of the rounded profiles and put it around the sled perimeter it would slide easily and have very little surface area.
