Router bit insertion - Rigid Router

I used some UHMW tape around the router. It’s slicker and stronger than Teflon. Then I put a light resistance on the router with a bungee cord I had laying around. Now it slides with no resistance and no slack, and I didn’t have to sand or modify the router.

I used the 3” strips.

we sell the tape for $4 instead of a whole roll for $32.

Yes UMHW tape works well, but it has to be the very very thin 0.005" thickness anything thicker won’t work. I only put it on the back 180 degrees of the router since that is where gravity acts. if you put it all the way around it can make the router too thick.

also we still recommend sanding it.
