Run calibration but not sure of the result

Hello,

I’ve finally set up my maslow on the floor.
The anchors are directly on the floor and I’ve used floor mats under my plywoodboard.

So far, I’ve done the following:

  • Set workpiece thickness to 32mm (12mm floor mats + 20mm plywood)

  • Retract all (Tension is set to 1300)

  • Extend all

  • Attach the belts to my anchors

  • Find Anchor Locations

The process has been surprisingly fast.

It has produced the following logs:

So far, I’m not sure how I am supposed to read that.

  1. Are the results good or not ?
  2. I’ve also tried to reduce the tension to 700 but only 2 of the spools rewind. If I set it to 1100, 3 of them rewind. And finally, I had to set it back to 1300 to get the 4 to rewind. Is it normal ?
Edit: After sanding, All but one retract at 700 but the last one retracts at 1100. Seems better now.
  3. Was I supposed to set spoilboard thickness to 12mm and workpiece thickness to 20 whereas 32mm to workpiece ?

Thanks for your time

Yup! The results look great. It looks like it located the anchors very accurately

These two values are added within the maths. The idea is the spoil board thickness generally stays the same while the workpiece can vary job to job. What you are doing with these values is telling the Maslow how high it is above anchor points. So do whatever works for you.

My floor is not totally flat. There is a drain in the middle of the room which adds a 7mm deep curve. Hopefully, my workpiece is strong enough not to bend but could it be an issue ? Should I run a new calibration when changing workpiece to handle its bending ?

Can you just pack out that low point?

Yeah if you were worried a small block or something to support the low place. If you put your head near the ground and look across your spoil board does it look bent? Maslow rides on the sled to determine z so it is forgiving of small bends.
