Start position after retract, extend, apply tension

Is the start position always the same relative to the frame after what I call the “belt dance”(retract, extend, apply tension)? The intention to set up xy home relative to start position. This will be useful when the cut is interrupted and has to be restarted.

yes, 0,0 in machine coordinates should be the same.

Yes and no. The XYZ coordinates shown on the screen and the position where you set the home position will be the same after doing the belt dance.

The exact position that the machine ends up in after pressing “Apply Tension” will not be the same every time.

As the belts apply tension they might retract slightly faster or slower and end up in a different place, but that different place will be accurately reflected by the numbers on the screen. If you press the “home” button the machine will move back to the same spot every time.
