The Z-axis does not move

Hello, I just received my Maslow 4.1. The assembly went well, but before reaching the calibration step, I can’t get the machine to move on the Z-axis. When I command a movement, the fan turns on but there is no motion.

I have checked the wiring: no issues. I disassembled the two Z-axis motors while leaving them connected to the main board (so without the machine’s weight), but there was no sound (except the fan) and no movement.

Could this be a defective part? Or maybe an incorrect setting? I’m a bit stuck. Thank you in advance for your comments.

What does your machine say here:

If it says “Alarm” can you try clicking it and it should unlock the machine.

It’s resolved. I think the problem was coming from my maslow.yaml file

I’m here with a similar issue. After upgrading to 1.11 only one of my z axis motors is moving. The machine tilts and then stops moving.

What was the problem with your maslow.yaml? I just took mine direct from the github releases for 1.11

If it’s just one z-axis motor that’s more likely to be a controller board issue. I will DM you a code for a replacement right now.

hi Bar and David,

hope your well !

so I’m experiencing an issue with the z axis again (had previous issues a couple months ago ) one of the z axis has stopped working, I’ve swapped the cables round to see if it was the motor or not and it (motor) seems ok so it’s the board issue again .

all the best

that said, if i wait a short while and/or restart , then sometimes … both the z axis motors start to work again… seemingly sporadic… and on occasion if i click ’test’… it seems to get them both working again but its very hit and miss..
